All Pets Veterinary Centre

Dr Emily Sabin BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Emily graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 with a distinction in Veterinary Science.

A local girl, Emily has returned to the island in 2017 after  working in the UK and abroad. Having a keen interest in all things feline (in particular geriatric and renal patients), her last 2 years in London included work at a cat-only clinic. During this time Emily completed the ISFM Distance Education course in feline medicine in conjunction with the University of Sydney, and is currently working towards her Advanced Feline Behaviour qualification. Emily hopes to sit exams this year to achieve her ANZCVS Medicine of Cats qualification. Quite literally, a Crazy Cat Lady.

Beyond her love of cats, she has a passion for small animal dentistry, and loves that we offer both gold standard dental practice and feline care at All Pets!

At home Emily has a very handsome (her words) Bengal cat called Jackson.

Dr Ruth Guegan BVetMed MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Ruth graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2008 and has worked predominantly in Jersey, moving to All Pets at the end of 2019. She has a keen interest in Small Animal Internal medicine, especially endocrinology, diagnostic imaging and emergency critical care and is very close to finishing her advanced certificate in medicine.

Before starting her family here, she spent 2 years travelling in Asia, South America, Canada and New Zealand, and spent some of that time working at SASH, an amazing veterinary hospital in Sydney that features on the TV program Bondi Vet which was an incredible job.

She spends most of her free time with her 1 year old Frank, 7 year old black cat Cookie and getting outside running when possible.

Dr Ben Linnell BVetMed GPCertOphthal, MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

Ben graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1987 and worked initially in mixed and small animal practice in England. In December 1992, he returned to Jersey with his wife, Lindsay (also a vet), joining David Place Veterinary Hospital (a practice initially established by his step grandfather and his brother, Professor Albert and Edgar Messervy!) He became a Partner in 1995 and a driving force in developing the Hospital, including its move to become the present-day New Era Veterinary Hospital in 1998.

Ben retired from the Partnership in 2008, to refocus on clinical work, still at New Era Veterinary Hospital and to spend more time with his wife and two boys, Jake and Tom. He enjoys all aspects of companion animal veterinary medicine, in particular soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology, gaining an extra qualification in Veterinary Ophthalmology (GPCertOphthal) in 2012.

Ben and Lindsay left full time work in September 2017, after 30 years in general practice. They enjoyed some wonderful travels and adventures around the world, but continued to work in veterinary practice on a locum basis as well as holding regular ophthalmology referral clinics at New Era Veterinary Hospital. Towards the end of 2019, he joined Emily, Ruth and the team at All Pets Veterinary Centre as a locum/part time worker providing particular support with surgery and ophthalmology cases.

.Melanie Wilkins RVN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Mel qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2010 after a big career change from 12 years in the electronics industry. She grew up with animals living on a small holding, and had always wanted to work with them and make a difference to their care and well-being. Her entire veterinary career was with Eastcott vets where she began as an Animal Nursing Assistant, progressing to Senior Theatre Referral Nurse and Team Leader! During this time Mel also achieved her nursing certificate in emergency and critical care, and has experience with hip replacements, dental, soft tissue and cataract surgery.

Mel made the big decision to move her life to Jersey and join the All Pets team in 2019 after missing that ‘hands on’ aspect of veterinary nursing, and now enjoys being able to see the patient’s journey from start to finish and build relationships with their owners.

In her spare time Mel loves horse riding and Crossfit. She has two horses Charlie and Tobias, two cats Cookie and Angel and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Millie.

Alicia Barney

Student Veterinary Nurse

Originally from Newcastle, Alicia moved to Jersey when she was just four years old. After completing primary and then secondary school at Le Rocquier, she moved on to study BTEC Business Studies Diploma at Highlands College for 2 years, achieving a Double Merit.

With a love of animals, Alicia joined us here at All Pets at the beginning of May 2012 and completed an Animal Care course in 2016 with a distinction star. Alicia is now working towards her Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification through Myerscough college.

Alicia has cared for a range of animals whilst growing up, and currently has two cats named Tilly and Sailor, and a corn snake named Arnold!
