Jeremy Miller – BA CertVOphthal MRCVS
What do all those initials mean, anyway?
The BA is a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, obtained in 1987 from the University of Richmond, Virginia, USA where Jeremy spent his formative years. The MRCVS means that he is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, which licenses vets to practice within Great Britain. The CertVOphthal is the Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology, which Jeremy was awarded in 2004 upon passing the post-graduate examination in the study of eyes. He is the only vet in Jersey to have obtained this extra qualification.
Jeremy completed his course in veterinary studies at the Hanover Veterinary College in Germany in 1995, after which he moved to Devon to work in a mixed practice for 5 years, spent a year living and working in France, and then moved on to Jersey in 2002. Jeremy is married to Kirsten, a local primary school teacher, and has 3 grown children, and two grandchildren!
In his spare time Jeremy likes to play guitar and tennis (he has represented Jersey on a number of occasions), and go for walks on St. Ouen’s Beach with his 5 year old Irish Terrier ‘Mila’. He also has a 2 year old black cat called ‘Oliver’, and 3 chickens-‘Wishbone’, ‘Omelette’ and ‘Drumstick’.
